Services

Information and Assistance:
Assistance to individuals in finding and working with appropriate human service providers that can meet their needs which may include; information giving ( listing the providers of a specific service); referrals to local agencies, and follow- up contacts with clients to ensure services have been provided and have met the respective service need. 

Outreach: 
Efforts to identify and contact isolated olders persons with the greatest social and economic needs who may have service needs and assisting them in gaining access to apprpriate services. 

Case Coordination and Assistance:
Assisting individuals by performing an assessement and reassessment of individuals needs, development and monitoring of a service plan, identification of and communication with appropriate community agencies to arrange for services, evaluation of the effectiveness and benefit of services provided and assignment of a single individual as the caseworker for each participant. 

Medicare and Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP) Counseling:

MMAP is Michigan's free, unbiased resource to help you navigate Medicare and Medicaid. If you've got questions, the Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program has answers. We don't sell Medicare plans--we just help you understand them. Our local, certified counselors are here to guide you. We offer personal assistance at no charge. Let us be your guide to maximize your benefits and savings.

Homemaking and Chore Services
Help with everyday housekeeping tasks such as light cleaning (vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors, cleaning bathroom, cleaning kitchen) small meal prep, laundry and grocery shopping. Chore service includes such tasks as grass cutting, window washing, smoke alarm installation, and snow shoveling.

Respite Care: Coming soon 
Short term relief for primary caregivers. 

Financial Management:
Assistance with paperwork for state, federal tax, and tax credit forms, insurance reimbursement, medical & prescription plans, food programs, household management, and other financial concerns. 

Transportation:
Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) - Transportation:
offers seniors 60 and older transporation for non-emergent medical appointment. Transports are within Marquette County for individuals who do not have other means of getting to their appointments. All transports can be requested through the Ishpeming Multi-Purpose Senior Center 906-485-5527.
